HNI manufactures a full range of premium polycrystalline diamond and cemented carbide ( tungsten carbide (WC)) products that drive productivity in the oil and gas drilling industry. HNI has designed PDC cutter inserts to give the abrasion resistance, cutter toughness, and thermal stability needed to meet the most demanding applications.


The PDC composite sheet for oil and gas produced by our company uses high-quality Diamond powder as raw material, using unique Assembly methods and advanced sintering process, the diamond powder and cemented carbide substrates are sintered under ultra-high temperature and pressure conditions, and has reached the international advanced level in terms of physical mechanical properties such as wear resistance, heat resistance and impact resistance.


Before leaving the factory, the appearance size, chamfering Angle and joint surface of the all PDC cutters are tested. Several pieces were randomly selected from each batch for wear resistance and impact resistance testing.

Because the shearing action of PDC cutters are more efficient than the crushing action of a button or tooth bit, fixed cutters are in high demand. In 1982, PDC drill bits accounted for only 2% of total footage drilled. In 2010, 65% of total footage drilled was by PDCs. The diamond drill bit is used in nearly all applications including geothermal energy drilling, mining, water well and natural gas drilling and oil well drilling. PDC drill bits are used extensively in natural gas drilling.
